Apparently, our neighbourhood Pakistan is planning to ban Doraemon as proposed by cricketer turned politician Imran Khan, claiming that its harming children health and education. Some reports also suggest they think the language is destroying certain norms of society and similar issue. Least of our concern, though.
It’s hard to identify the reaction of Pakistani parents and children over it, but some of the frustrated Indian parents are going gaga over it. Well, the anime series has been under scrutiny and condemnation, even before in India, when Ashish Chaturvedi, whistleblower of Vyapam scam had also demanded its ban, remembering a kid’s addiction over it. “When I saw a young boy imitating ‘Nobita Nobi’ (the main character of Doraemon) I clapped for him. But, I was completely shocked when his parents said that he was so addicted to Doraemon and they have not been able to get him out of ‘Nobita’ he was aping. He keeps asking for gadgets or hoping for a miracle to happen, just like Nobita,” Ashish had said in a report.
After its ban in Pakistan, Indian parents are seeking same law to be passed in India as well. According to them, children are getting entranced over the lead character Nobida and are becoming lazy and demanding for miracle gadgets to do their work. Moreover, they say certain unsuitable scenes and lines in the show related to the love life of Nobita and Shezuka is affecting the mind of kids in a very tender age.Share on Facebook
